In the Netherlands, this project is led by the department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry of the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG; https://www.umcg.nl/EN/corporate/Departments/UCP/Research/Paginas/default.aspx) and Accare Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (https://www.accare.nl/), a large mental health clinic in the Northern part of the Netherlands.
Within this cooperation, several research projects have been carried out, always focusing on improving the care for children and adolescents with psychiatric problems. For this specific project, two other institutions have been involved: Kentalis (https://www.kentalis.nl/), a national institution for people with communicative limitations, and the dr. A. Verschoorschool (http://www.verschoorschool.nl/), a school for special primary and secondary education. Preceding the current project, the four partners have developed an e-learning course on autism for students (teachers-to-be) within ‘Samen Doen!’, one of the Dutch academic workplaces for autism (http://autisme-samendoen.nl/). The current project is a follow-up on that, focusing on teachers who already work in education students with autism.
